FAVUSEAL FIREBOX compared to EPOXY FIREBOX
The Favuseal Powered Firebox is designed applying the latest innovative fire protection technology. It utilizes Favuseal NKX-6174, a Polymer based passive fire protection material, extruded into sheets that are fitted onto the walls inside
of the metal enclosure (0,7mm AISI 316 SS) yielding an
ultra-slim fire protection solution.

EPOXY FIREBOX
After fire exposure
By using the Favuseal Powered Firebox, clashes are reduced to a minimum. The fire box is smaller than any other firebox found in the market place and it only expands marginally (8mm) inwards towards the object protected. More importantly, the tested explosion loads will remain intact over time. Some fireboxes utilizing two-component epoxy based paint will continue to cure/hardned over time after it has been installed causing them not withstanding explosion loads very well.
In the event of a fire, the outer dimension of the Favuseal Powered Firebox remains unchanged during the pre- and post-fire stages. It delivers excellent performance by exceeding functional requirements under the various fire scenarios

The Favuseal Powered Firebox can also be equipped with a drain plug to allow any fluid to be drained out and an optional inspection hatch.
The fire box is 100% compliant to NORSOK utilizing Favuseal, a Polymer-Based Fire Protection (PBFP) technology, and an aerogel mat. All testing has also been done in accordance with NORSOK requirements
The Favuseal Powered Firebox has been successfully tested to meet the highest NORSOK standards and all fire testing has been carried out with inspection hatch and fitted drain plugs. In addition to various explosion tests, it is certified to withstand a hydrocarbon pool fire (EN-1363-2), an ISO-22899-1 jet fire (250 kW/m2) and a modified ISO-22899-1 High Heat Flux jet fire (350 kW/m2)
